Leading the design process to give users the health portal they truly need and reducing healthcare costs annually by $2 million

Led end-to-end design process, product vision, and business strategy for a medical health records platform for patients  that gives them confidence in taking charge of their health.

Utilizing UX concepts to conduct usability testing to uncover user needs, develop information architecture, and create a design system for the  MVP platform.

My Role, Design Process & Impact

My role: Lead UX Designer At Your Health Records

Created multiple concepts to address user problems and needs, scoping down ideas to 1 MVP. Generated multiple sketched concepts and wireframes to showcase product ideation.

Conducted usability tests of MVP platform to ensure ease of use, clear navigation, content clarity, information architecture, and findable lead generation for the platform.

Design Process: End-to-end product design & development

Developed the information architecture and user flows for the MVP product, so that users could easily navigate the platform and find relevant materials depending on the task at hand.

Reiterated on MVP product after leading usability testing and defining scope of changes needed to the platform to increase usability, ease of navigation, and content clarity for users and prospective customers.

Impact:

Presented key insights to stakeholders, delivering user types, personas, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, ideation workshops, MVP concept ideation, and research findings to help  define the product vision and scope.

Creating a user flow for the desktop version to visualize the journey and make sure it is free of unnecessary friction.

  • Reinventing the patient portal so that the patient has more ownership over their records

  • Aiming to reduce the amount of portals a user needs to access in their lifetime

Sketching generated several ideas while incorporating user needs that were found in the UX research process

  • They want to easily find their records with the user interface

  • Easily open and view PDF files

  • An inbox to send and receive medical records to providers

Developed the design system for continuity, encouraging positive emotions and emphasizing accessibility to account for all user types that would use the platform

The MVP

A “one-stop shop” for all of a user’s medical records. Reducing the number of portals that users currently access and putting ownership of records in their hands. Saving users up to 15 hours when requesting their records.
